Grace Poli is a Great Example!

As I listen to Grace Poli describe how she uses technology to reach and serve students for who English is not the primary language, I see a great example of a technology-literate educator with a big heart who uses technologies creatively to solve real problems.

She is also very politically astute, copying the Superintendent on all good news, and sending him notes that start, "Here's what we are doing..."

Grace and her students use the iPods to examine and understand the lyrics of popular music, to download and listen to audiobooks, to record the students voices as they learn to speak English, and to produce podcasts. She showed us websites she uses a lot, examples of student work, and how she evaluates student learning.

Grace's session was a great way to start our second day of the conference, and a great opportunity to be inspired by another dedicated educator, whose sincerity, dedication, and love for teaching and students makes her a great example of a technology-using educator, of a "Teacher" and of a human being.
