I was informed by ANGEL support today that when you are manually adding a course member and using the Account Search field, while formerly, you could search either for a user ID or the name, now you can only search for the user ID. I updated the Add a Course Member Knowledge Base article to reflect the change.
As of the summer II term, when ANGEL course editors are viewing their course roster, they can see each student's Penn State ID+ photo. This will assist instructors, particularly in large courses, with matching students' names and faces. The new feature is made possible through a collaboration between Information Technology Services and Housing and Food Services.
With the new feature, those with course editor rights can see a photo of each student when they access the course roster page and select the "Show Pictures" link in the toolbar.
ANGEL users should be aware that the recently released Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 web browsers are not yet fully supported for use with ANGEL by Blackboard, the parent company of ANGEL. Users should continue to use Internet Explorer 7 or 8 or Firefox 3, as described in the "Recommended Browsers and Computers" topic in the ANGEL Help and Information Guide: http://kb.its.psu.edu/cms/article/6.
Blackboard is committed to supporting the Internet Explorer and Firefox updates as soon as possible, while ensuring through testing that they are compatible with the full range of ANGEL features. ANGEL support regrets any inconvenience this browser compatibility issue causes to users and will post an update when the issue is resolved.
