On Friday, April 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., faculty and staff are invited to a free ANGEL Town Hall, either in person at 116 Wagner Building, University Park, or via an online Adobe Connect videoconference. Attendees will be able to preview the ANGEL 7.4 course management system interface and its new tools and features, explore how ANGEL 7.4 impacts learning, and participate in an open discussion with their peers from across Penn State. The upgrade to version 7.4 is tentatively scheduled for May 2010.
To optimize the performance of Penn State's Course Management System, ANGEL, during fall finals week, the Import Wizard and Export Wizard tools will be turned off from 4:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12 until 6:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19. These tools include the Copy Course, import Content Package, import Master Course, and export ANGEL Archive functions. Note: During finals week, instructors can continue to create course content and create master courses and learning object repositories. Students can continue to upload/download files and access lesson content.

The ANGEL Help and Information Guide knowledgebase will be unavailable from 12:01 a.m. until approximately 8:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 due to maintenance. The Help and Information Guide is located at http://angelkb.ais.psu.edu/ and accessed by clicking the help button within ANGEL. On July 20, two ANGEL features are being updated: 1) the way in which discussion forums are displayed in the Discussion Forums component on the course Communicate tab, and 2) what a course editor sees on the Activity Detail report for a lesson content item if tracking is disabled.
Users will now find up-to-date documentation when they click the Help (?) button within ANGEL (or go directly to http://angelkb.ais.psu.edu).
Penn State’s Course Management System, ANGEL (http://cms.psu.edu), will be upgraded from version 7.1 to version 7.3 the weekend of May 16. The new version of ANGEL will feature enhancements to several existing tools, and several new tools will help course editors perform administrative tasks. Users will also see several minor interface changes. For the most part, however, the functionality will remain familiar to users. Learn more about the new features in version 7.3.
