The Course Tab and the Resources Tab in V7

A brief description of the Course tab was provided in a previous post . This posting will provide some further information on the Course tab and how it works in conjunction with the Resource tab. Click on the post title to read more.

The Course tab and the Resource tab are identical in the sense that the same components are available for each page. What will make these tabs unique is how the instructor chooses to use them.

The primary intent of the Course tab is to serve as the home page for the course. By default, it is the first page instructors and students see when entering a course. The purpose of the Course tab is to display critical information regarding course activity. By default, student activity (e.g. logons, mail messages, discussion posts, submissions), grades, and announcements are displayed.

The Resource tab is the central location for information concerning the course. The intent is to provide students and instructors a single page to go where they can access the course syllabus, course resources, e.g. bookmarks, as well as external information resources such as Google and Wikipedia.

Attached is a screen shot of the Course and Resource tabs as they appear in the off-the-shelf version of ANGEL v7.
