I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this FYI, but in an effort to contribute to group awareness of issues, I'll post it here.
Our campus upgraded to Office 2007 this summer. I just had my first case of a faculty uploading a .docx file into ANGEL. Seems that IE interprets the .docx as a zip file. So if one tries to open a .docx file from ANGEL, you need to save first, can't open directly. From what I've read, this is a server issue where the mime type for .docx files needs to be fixed. Firefox is fine, but IE is not happy with these file types from ANGEL right now.
I reported this to ANGEL help and they informed me that they are aware of the issue and are working on it. In the meantime, I'm telling my faculty to save docs as RTF, PDF or in an earlier Word format.
