Checking the Amount of Storage Space Remaining in Your Course

Prior to the fall 2006 semester ANGEL course file space was capped at 1gigabyte (GB) for a course. The 1 GB allocation corresponds to the maximum size of a course that can be reliably imported and exported. Exceeding this allocation cap will prevent faculty and students from being able to upload additional files, such as course content or attachments. As we get further along in the semester it is advisable to check your course to see how much space is available, and to take any necessary action, before the limit is exceeded. To do this from your course:

  1. Select the Manage tab (viewable only to course editors)
  2. Select the Course Files Manager link beneath the PSU Data Management subheading
  3. The current size of the course and the remaining available space are found uder the header.

Faculty who approach the 1 GB limit may request a consultation with a member of the ANGEL Support team to assess their use of the course space and determine whether this can be reduced through the use of ANGEL learning object repositories, master courses, or other ITS services.
