On Wednesday, April 30, 2008, Information Technology Services will remove all ANGEL course and group mail messages dated May 14, 2004 or prior from the ANGEL system. This action is being taken in preparation for the upgrade from ANGEL version 7.1 to 7.2 following the spring semester. Mail messages sent prior to May 14, 2004 are in an older format that will not be compatible with version 7.2.

Users who wish to save a copy of an ANGEL mail message slated for removal can forward it to their external e-mail account as follows:

  1. On the course or group Communicate tab, select the Read Course Mail link.
  2. If the message is in a folder other than the Inbox, use the select a folder pull-down menu to open that folder.
  3. Select the link for the message to open it.
  4. If the message has an attachment you would like to save, select the link for the attachment.
    • If you are using Firefox, in the dialogue box that opens, select the Save to Disk radio button, then click OK. The file will be downloaded to your desktop.
    • If you are using Internet Explorer, in the dialogue box that opens, click the Save button. Select a location on your local drive and click the Save button. When the download is complete, click the Close button.
    • Certain types of files, such as PDFs, may open within the browser. If so, click the Save button in the plug-in’s toolbar.
  5. Click the Forward button.
  6. Select your own name/user ID in the Recipients list, then click the To button.
  7. Below the message, check the Send a copy to each recipient’s Internet e-mail check box.
  8. Click the Send button.

Note: If you have not specified a forwarding e-mail address for ANGEL mail messages, the message will be forwarded to your Penn State Access Account e-mail address. To specify another e-mail address, click the Preferences button in the left navigation menu. Select the System Settings link. Enter the e-mail address in the Forwarding Address field, then click the Save button. Each forwarded message will then be sent to the address you specified in addition to your Penn State Access Account address.
