Here is an email I received from a faculty:
"Very often, in fact I'd say most of the time, when I try to download or
export a file from ANGEL at home, I get a Message Box saying "Getting File
Information Default.asp from cms.psu.edu. It just sits there, I've waited 15
minutes at times before cancelling. Today, I wanted to export the responses to
a survey. I have not had this happen at Behrend. I am connected to the
Internet via Roadrunner using a cable modem. This is seriously affecting my
ability to use ANGEL. "
He had tried the following as adviced by ANGEL Support:
1) Disable any and all firewalls. This includes window's firewall and/or
any 3rd party firewall you may be using. Once disabled, please try to access
ANGEL again. - No luck.
2) Connect directly to the ISP modem. Bypass any router that you may be using and connect directly to your roadrunner modem and try to access ANGEL once again. - No luck.
3) Download the appropriate version of VPN client from https://www.work.psu.edu/vpn/ and then connect via the VPN. (Results: "I tried downloading and installing the VPN client, but at nearly the end of the install, I got the message:
Error 1316 A Network Error occurred while attempting to read the file C:\documents and settings\Ronald\Locals\temp\WZEO.tmp\vpnclient_setup.msi")
ANY insights? Thanks a bunch!

Re: need suggestions
Neither the file download nor VPN installation issues are ANGEL problems.
The file download issue is almost certainly a problem with the McAfee Antivirus/Safe and Sound software installed on the user's computer. See here. Please ask him to call McAfee for help with troubleshooting their software.
The problem installing the VPN client is a Windows Installer issue. I would start by trying Windows Installer CleanUp then have the user call the help desk if further assistance is needed.
Norton?
Could it be something with Norton? The faculty does not have McAFee but Norton installed.
Re: Norton
If it includes any tpe of anti-phishing, script monitoring, or privacy software, yes.
