I have heard that there have been issues with faculty importing grades from ANGEL into E-Lion. I would like to know if there is something specific that I can look at in the ANGEL grade book to make sure that it will import into E-Lion successfully. Is there something that has to be a certain way in order for the import to work that would be easy for an ID to find and help the faculty correct?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Question on ANGEL/ E-Lion Interaction
Can you provide details on these issues? It's hard to give guidance in the absence of specifics, but this in this case I probably can.
1. There was a problem with eLion mid-December that caused problems pulling grades from ANGEL to eLion. This was reported to eLion staff and they quickly rectified it. I mention this only because it may be part of the "issues" you are hearing about.
2. Before grades can be imported from ANGEL to eLion, the instructor must first publish final grades in ANGEL. The publishing process serves two purposes: 1) instructors review the final grades as calculated in ANGEL, ensures they are correct, makes any manual adjustments needed, and assigns a letter grade; and 2) the final grades as approved by the instructor are placed in a data source that is available to eLion.
If the individuals you are working with can't pull grades into eLion, it's a good bet that they have not yet published their grades in ANGEL. I believe that eLion throws an error message this when instructors try to import grades without having published them in ANGEL that instructs them to publish grades. The instructions for publishing grades are available online in this ANGEL knowledgebase article.
