I am working with an instructor on a course that uses 90 min, timed quizzes. The quizzes are available during a short, 30 min window of opportunity. Some of the settings for the quiz are:
• disabled time warning under "Time settings"
• "Automatically submit when time limit expires" is selected
• Max attempts = 1
• "Warn about incomplete items" is selected
• auto save is disabled
• "Do not allow users to save and finish later" is selected
• Full Review is selected
The problem we're having is, say a student logs on 1 minute before the quiz closes and they complete the quiz before the 90 min and submit it, ANGEL shows the results as expected...
but when the student clicks on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page, they get an error saying that the student no longer has access to the quiz - because the quiz has automatically closed.
If the student clicks on the OK button on this warning screen, they are automatically taken back to a blank version of the quiz and begin a "[endless] loop." ANGEL still accepts the first submission, but rather than allowing the student to easily return to the course content by clicking on that "OK" button, they get stuck in this loop. Now I say "get stuck" because there is no notification that their first submission was accepted. If I were a student I wouldn't have any indication that my submission was accepted and would probably fear that I would have to take another 90 min to finish the quiz, only to find out that that submission would get rejected.
So, how can I offer a 90 min exam in a 30 min window without this problem?
Any help would greatly appreciated! Thanks!
