Seats are still open for the ITS Training Services face-to-face seminar "New Features in Version 7.1" on 6-13. I see in the registration area at http://its.psu.edu/training/ that you can register to "attend" from a distance via Adobe Connect.
Here is a link to the seminar handout: https://its.psu.edu/training/handouts/angel/71_NewFeatures.pdf
It is largely based on topics within the Help & Information Guide, but brings them together in a handy fashion. Faculty, ANGEL trainers, instructional designers, etc. may find this helpful.
Allan & I provided an overview of what to expect in ANGEL 7 for the Department of Dairy and Animal Science (DAS) on May 7th. DAS recorded the sessions and was kind enough to allow us to share it.

I was wondering if anyone has been hearing about faculty/student reactions to the new version of ANGEL. Did the word get out sufficiently? Are there any unusual reactions? Any lost data or other problems (things that got lost in the translation)?
You may have noticed, when you select the Help (?) button icon on the left hand side of the screen the ANGEL Help & Information Guide looks different (See the attached screen shot). Well, that's because it is different. Along with the upgrade to ANGEL 7.1 we also installed a new help tool. The new Help tool should make finding documentation easier. Information is now broken down into topical chunks called articles. You can use the Content links on the left to search for articles by tab. Or you can use the Search feature.
Once found, you have the option to print, email, bookmark, or download articles. Additionally you can also subscribe to an article. By subscribing to an article you will receive an email notification whenever the article is updated.
The Help & Information Guide is still the place to go to contact ANGEL Support, suggest an enhancement, etc.

It looks like the new version of ANGEL (version 7.1) went into production today and didn't require as long of an outage as predicted. That's a good sign. Does anyone have additional details, like what time it came back online. Just a reminder -- if you want to see some of our screencasts of the new ANGEL tabs, check out the V7 (short for "version 7") link on this site.
From 6:00 p.m. (EDT) Friday, May 18 to 6:00 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, May 19, Penn State's Course Management System, ANGEL (http://cms.psu.edu/), will be unavailable. During this time period, Information Technology Services (ITS) will be upgrading ANGEL from version 6.3 to version 7.1. ITS regrets any inconvenience this outage may cause.

Allan & I attended the ANGEL User's Conference in Indianapolis, May 15 & 16. We were able to conduct a few interviews in between sessions, over lunch, and during dinner with some interesting folks. Thought you might find these interesting:
Interview with John Meyer from ANGEL Learning
Interview with David Massey, Indian Hills Community College
