Crossword Puzzle timer

In the crossword puzzles, a timer shows while the puzzle is being completed. There is no way to eliminate or alter this timer is there? Also, what is the limit of the timer and what happens if a person exceeds this limit?

Searched all through the documentation and couldn't find this addressed.

Thanks.

ANGEL 7.3 New Features: Discussion Forum

The Discussion Forum tool has undergone a lot of changes in version 7.3. One of which is the inclusion of a new tab under the forum settings called the Interaction tab. This tab combines some of the existing features of the tool along with some new features that have been added. This short video provides an overview of the Interaction tab

Assignment Formula for Specific Instance

How do I develop a formula for this scenario:

If a student receives 70%-100% on a quiz, they receive 2 points
If a student receives 50%-69% on a quiz, they receive 1 point
If as student receives 0-49% on a quiz, they receive 0 points.

The gradebook is set up for points, so I am making the quizzes worth 100 points to cover the percentage. I thought the faculty could go in and manually change the percentages to points, but for some reason, ANGEL won't let her do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dropped students and assignment averages

I have an instructor that noticed the averages for a few assignments in his Gradebook were lower than what he calculated. He had a student that dropped the course, and had received zeroes for those assignments - so he was wondering if dropped students' grades are included in average calculations, even when they are no longer part of the course roster. Anybody know?

ANGELshorts (Vol. 2. Issue #8) Five Things an Instructor Should Know About Using Media in a Quiz

ANGELshorts Vol. 2, Issue #8 Five Things an Instructor Should Know About Using Media in a Quiz is now available.

Editor's Note: This is the second in a series of ANGELshorts designed to assist instructors in maximizing the potential of the
ANGEL quiz tool. This series will be featured in publications over the fall and spring semesters. Additional information on the topic can be found by clicking on the Innovative Quizzing link located on the top right-hand side of the screen.

From the article:
"Many instructors use a variety of media to teach their students. This is true in both computer-based and face-to-face instruction. Using multiple forms of media allows the instructor to engage the students on both the visual and auditory planes. This enables deeper learning to occur as opposed to using words or pictures alone. However, did you know that using multimedia could also enhance the assessment process?"

ANGEL message boards must be converted to discussion forums before January 21, 2009

ANGEL message boards are no longer supported. The message board tool was phased out in May 2007 and replaced by the discussion forum tool. While message boards can be converted to discussion forums currently in ANGEL 7.1, when ANGEL is upgraded to 7.3 following the spring semester it will no longer be possible to convert message boards to discussion forums. For this reason, all remaining message boards in all courses and groups must be converted to discussion forums before fall 2007 courses and inactive groups are archived on January 21, 2009.
