At this year's symposium I had the pleasure of leading a panel discussion on ways instructors can use some of the newer interactive technologies in conjunction with their course in ANGEL in order to create a more dynamic learning experience for their students. The title of the session was, ANGEL as the Hub: Integrating Services into ANGEL and my fellow panel members included Maritza Hogue-Davidson, a lecturer in languages in the College of Liberal Arts, Terry O'Heron, the ANGEL Project Manager, and Jennifer Mullen, the ANGEL Application Tester. The session was full and featured some lively discussion. A summary of the session as well as a recording of it can be found on the symposium site by clicking here:

On Wednesday, April 30, 2008, Information Technology Services will remove all ANGEL course and group mail messages dated May 14, 2004 or prior from the ANGEL system. This action is being taken in preparation for the upgrade from ANGEL version 7.1 to 7.2 following the spring semester. Mail messages sent prior to May 14, 2004 are in an older format that will not be compatible with version 7.2.

I have quite a few inquiries lately about courses reaching and exceeding their file size limits therefore making it impossible for students to submit homework to drop boxes. I have been told to introduce LOR's to faculty who are facing this issue.
Has the file sizes of courses changed?
Are LOR's the only solution?
Should we be alerting faculty about this before it happens to make sure it does not happen?

Many questions are coming in concerning classes reaching file size capacity and students unable to deposit to drop boxes because of classes being to the max in file size. Is there any more information on this or a place to go to to learn more?

On Wednesday, April 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in free a training session and webinar that focuses on the development of universally accessible digital courses and Web pages for all Internet users, including individuals with disabilities. Participants can join the live seminar in 101 Foster Auditorium, Pattee Library, University Park or online via Adobe Connect at http://breeze.psu.edu/atdemo/. To optimize the performance of Penn State's Course Management System, ANGEL, during spring finals week, the Import Wizard and Export Wizard tools will be turned off from 5:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3 until 7:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10. These tools include the Copy Course, import Content Package, import Master Course, and export ANGEL Archive functions. The tools for importing and exporting individual lesson content items between courses and groups will be turned off as well. These temporary changes for that week are one of a number of steps that have been taken to improve ANGEL performance during the period of intense usage associated with finals week.

Does anyone know the difference between the various grading options for ANGEL fill-in-the-blank questions?
Thanks,
Beth
