The TLT Web Site Redesign team just conducted our third successful Card Sorting session with an undergrad student, an instructional designer and an instructional technologist from World Campus. Our team also started thinking of how to approach the information architecture of the site from a task-based scenario, meaning "what is it that a using is asking when they come to the TLT site?" At the same time, we are thinking of what the end point will be, which led to this draft wireframe for a service or resource landing page. Some of the main concepts in putting this page together is having the most basic info, showing all of the existing sites related to the service and explaining why they are related and different, showing other services and topics that are similar or related or are alternative options for whatever your task may be, showing faculty/staff/student testimonials including photos or videos, allowing visitors to comment and contribute their experiences, showing featured examples of this service in action, and pulling in feeds that show the latest news, discussions, blog posts, and upcoming/past conferences with session on this subject, and finally an area where users can rate and suggest their feelings about this page.
