Pedagogical Needs Assessment Development Plan

In Friday's ID meeting, we talked a good bit about the Faculty survey that Carol McQuiggan drafted at http://ets.tlt.psu.edu/learningdesign/FacPedSurvey. It's a great start, but as with other tools, we would like to be able to adapt it for multiple needs. Additional notes from Friday's meeting are posted at http://ets.tlt.psu.edu/learningdesign/node/278.

Since editing during the discussion was taking longer than anticipated, we decided to take the rest of the discussion off-line and form mini-groups to look at different sections of the survey to see if any changes might be needed.

The groups are:

1. Section A -- Demographics
2. Section B -- Facilities
3. Section C -- Professional Development
4. Section D -- Development Topics

We had asked that if you were interested in a helping with a section, you go to the Breeze room and vote in the poll. Unfortunately, the poll only recorded a few of the names with their votes, so we need to try something else to collect names of people who want to participate and the group they would like to participate in.

The entries that were recorded in the poll are:

Catherine Chambers -- Section A

Suzanne Shaffer -- Section B

Qi Dunsworth -- Section C
Bo Zigner -- Section C

Elizabeth Pyatt -- Section D

All other poll entries lost the name that should have been attached.

Sorry to be asking you to sign up again, but if you would reply to me (bxb11@psu.edu) and tell me which group you would like to work on, I will send a compiled list to everyone. Once the lists are compiled, you will need to select a leader for your group and arrange a time to meet.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am by your interest here! This is a great opportunity for us to really be proactive with our faculty, addressing their needs and raising the bar on great instruction at PSU.
