Description

Date: Wednesday, January 7

Place: TBD

Time: one session will be 8:00 am to 12:00 noon; a second, different session will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Since the two sessions are different, registration for each will be separate.

Registration will be for each entire 4 hour session -- participants will be expected to stay for all sessions presented within the 4 hour time block.

Specific content and sequence will be developed by each team.

One session will be on blogs and podcasting -- the team leaders for this session are Chris Stubbs and Tim Perry.

A proposed title for this session is "Digital Media: Start to Finish."

Suggested topics for this session include creating a blog, creating a podcast, creative commons/free stuff, designing activities/assignments, publishing.

The other session will be on incorporating media into an ANGEL course -- the team leader is Yvonne Clark.

A proposed title for this session is "Using Media and ANGEL to Engage Gen Y Learners."

Suggested topics for this session include recording Adobe Connect meetings, using recorded meetings for instruction, using Presenter recordings, using streaming video and YouTube, finding free, legal media and inserting them into ANGEL and other tools.

Specific content and sequence will be developed by each team. (It would be great if the team leaders would post the title, description, and schedule for their session in the wiki as soon as they have it ready.)

Session titles and descriptions are due no later than COB October 10.

Heather will send out the format for the session descriptions and directions on how to submit them.

Team leaders are responsible for getting their teams together and writing descriptions of their sessions.

Team leaders are also responsible for submitting the descriptions to Heather.

All sessions are to include hands-on practice as well as pedagogical examples and information. Participants will walk away from these sessions with examples/samples of the uses of the technologies that they have created for themselves.
