Feature Story on the TLT site
What are the next features on the TLT web site, and when do they run?
- The DC Tailgate feature will run through 11/20
- The next feature will go live on 11/23 and will run through 1/1
- Possibly Pandemic Planning
- Another option could be Winter-Fest seminars
- If we don't run a Winter-Fest feature, we should make WF be a spotlight on the TLT site
- The first feature of 2010 will begin on 1/4 (the day we come back from break)
- If the feature that runs in December covers Winter-Fest, then it will continue through 1/8
- There will need to be a feature that runs in January until the beginning to middle of February
- There is a possibility of an ANGEL 7.4 pilot covering ANGEL assessments that will occur in January
- Symposium 2010 will be the feature that begins in February and runs through March
December Feature
- Pandemic Planning
- This will run after the DC Tailgate until 12/6
- Winter-Fest Seminars
- This goes up on 12/7 when WF registration opens
- Will run through the end of WF (1/8)
January Feature
- Faculty Quick-Start
- We can reuse the existing story that we ran in the fall with updates
- This story will run through the middle of February
February Feature
- Symposium 2010
- This will run through March 27
Changes to the Highlights section on the TLT site
We will change this so it does not separate stories and videos.
- The name will change from "Featured highlights" to "Highlights"
- All 6 boxes will fall under this category
- Videos will have the play button displayed in the graphic that appears in the box
- Audrey will ad the play button graphic
- Videos will have the play button displayed in the graphic that appears in the box
Daily Buzz promo graphics
Update from George and Jamie
- Pat has revised the artwork for the bumper
- Audrey will send George the fonts from the word art on the TLT site to keep consistency
- George and Jamie will work on a closing bumper
- Would the bumper graphics appear on the TLT site as well to introduce the Daily Buzz
- Derick will make this an agenda item for the 11/3 Leadership meeting
TLT Communications Group listserv workflow
Now that we have received some requests to the Comm Group list, we should touch base on how it is working and what improvements/adjustments we can make
- The process is going well
- We will track when a request has come in, when we replied, when a significant milestone is reached (if appropriate), and when the project is completed
- This will provide us with metrics as to what we are working on and how long it takes projects to be completed based on what the workload for the group is
Informing staff
- Derick will put the alias on the TLT Staff site today
- He will also put it on the main page of the Communications Group wiki
- He will send a note to all TLT staff
- Derick will also present this at the next ETS staff meeting on 11/11
Seminar Descriptions
We need to finalize this process for how seminar descriptions are reviewed and the final is submitted to Heather Ormsby
- Tara needs someone to proof submissions from ETS
- The instructor needs to send title, format, pre-requisites, description, objectives, and date of the workshop
- Tara will send Derick a template that he will share with the managers
- The person proofing this may need to contact the instructor who submitted the description
- After the description is proofed it is sent back to the instructor who will then submit to Heather Ormsby
- The instructor will copy the tltcomm list when they send the description to Heather
- The instructor will include in the email to Heather that the description was proofed by a Comm Group member and has been approved by the instructor
- The instructor will copy the tltcomm list when they send the description to Heather
- Heather will forward any final descriptions to the tltcomm list if it was not copied on the email sent to her
- Tara will talk to the Group about the deadlines for when descriptions are needed when they are set up
- We will need to find the ideal way to communicate timeframes for how long descriptions for individual workshops (not associated with a Fest) need to be submitted before the workshop occurs
We will look at using Footprints to handle seminar descriptions
- We won't have time to do this for Winter-Fest
- We can iron out the workflow details from now into the spring
- We will set up a meeting with the Tech Group to discuss using Footprints
- How it works for them
- Best practices
- Tracking and results
Thymer
- Planning, task and project management software
- Audrey is using this
