A Proposed 7 Things You Should Know About Staying Connected with TLT
- TLT Website
- TLT Events
- Project Overviews (and other important sections)
- cll161 Cole, I know you have shown examples of project overviews and updates that ETS staff have posted that John has been pleased with. Can we use some of those as examples/guidelines? It would be great to find a way to create a single solution that helps meet Directors expectations for project updates as well as keeping staff informed of TLT projects. Possibly creating a tag specific for this info...
- RSS Subscriptions
- Include feed bundle
- eMail Addresses
- TLT Staff Site
- Unit Websites
- ETS
- TS
- CLC
- WL
- TLT Talks
- Live, F2F v. Connect v. recorded presentations?
- Submitting Content for Reporting and Getting Noticed via the Blogs at PSU
- psutlttraveltraining tag search
--Asg102 Twitter is another way. We have our YouTube channel as well. We have ETS Talk and the ETS wiki. TLT Events should probably be their own category.
cll161 - I believe this is geared more towards internal communication between TLT staff and finding better ways to facilitate this. --Asg102 Yep. I got confirmation today that we start with the internal focus and move to external later.
--Asg102 This is another way of grouping the categories (not necessarily in this order):
1. TLT Websites
2. Internal Social Media Social Media
3. External Social Media
4. TLT Events
- TLT Symposium
- Plone Symposium
- TLT Talks
- Workshops/Summerfest

5. Submitting Content for Reporting and Getting Noticed via the Blogs at PSU
- psutlttraveltraining tag search
6. eMail Addresses
- TLT Staff Directory
- Project-based addresses? (e.g. blogs@psu.edu, podcasts@psu.edu)
7. RSS Subscriptions (The grand unifier)
- Include feed bundle

Questions
- Should we produce a handout?
- cll161 - Can we create something and have it available online? Maybe an online version of the "7 things" document that's normally created. It could also include links to online documentation for using these tools.
- Should we use a version of this right on the TLT site and highlight it?
- How important is it to mention/discuss the TLT Intranet vs the ITS Intranet
- cll161 - I think this is very important. I know my staff are confused about the ITS internal site and how they should be using it...if at all. I think some examples of the type of information that would go on the TLT Intranet and/or the ITS Internal site would be good.
- There's been lots of conversations of socializing a move to the ITS Space and closing down the TLT Site
- I think if we leave out too much Intranet stuff we can use this for a general audience as well.
- Inclusion of tags:
- psutlt for general stuff?
- cll161 - I like this. Should we also have a tag just for project updates since this is high on JTH's radar?
- psutlttraveltraining for travel reports is critical
- psutlt for general stuff?
