The Educational Gaming Commons Community Hub

The Educational Gaming Commons (EGC) and Virtual Worlds Community Hub is a place where Penn State faculty, staff and students working with educational games and virtual worlds can communicate and collaborate. The EGC is an initiative coordinated by Education Technology Services at Penn State. The EGC Hub is divided into areas on gaming, virtual worlds, and the EGC Affiliate Program.
Through the affiliate program Penn State faculty, staff, and students will have access to resources in order to assist in the exploration of gaming and gaming technologies for teaching, learning, and research.
The EGC is working with several faculty at this time to develop educational games. For example, we are developing EcoRacer - a racing game where the object is to not cross the finish line first, but to maximize the use of alternative fuel sources and minimize environmental impact.
