Graduate Course Announcement

A new course on teaching with technology will be available this fall. Although the course is offered through the School of Nursing, it is open to graduate students in any major.

NURS 597B: Technological Innovations in Teaching and Learning
Instructor: Dr. Dee McGonigle

This course presents an overview of various instructional technologies* and prepares the learners to explore, analyze and use these technologies to create a variety of innovative learning episodes. New methods for course planning and learning assessment are provided since the technologies impact both interactivity and course culture. A learner-centered approach is used to combine views about how individuals think and learn with the potential uses and impacts of education technologies. Team activities facilitate the assessment of instructional technologies. Each learner will have opportunities to exercise her/his expertise and experience while she/he progresses through the course and builds her/his individual Teaching e-Portfolio (TeP).

*Note: The selected software/technologies may change as updates or new versions are introduced or as new software/technologies become available.
