Discipline Specific Links for Students

Back to Portfolio Rubric

One of the benefits of the Internet is that students can access multiple sources of information from home. The disadvantage is that students may not know the best resources to use.

A list of discipline-specific or course-specific links can lead students to better resources and help them understand what constitutes a quality source of information.

Any link collection should include descriptions for purpose of the links; for large sets of links, you may also want to organize links into categories.

Links Can Include

  • External study guides
  • External multimedia, surveys or exercises
  • News sources relevant to the course
  • Sources of research data
  • Discipline-specific bibliographies, journal titles or library guides
  • Examples of online Internet communication
