Quest #3 - PSU Blogs
Quest #3 will explore Blogs.
A blog is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Getting started is really easy. You should be able to add contents and share information you are interested about within just a few minutes.
You will need to set up a personal Blog unless you have one set up already.
- Open a Web browser and connect to Blogs at PSU.
- Log in with your Penn State user ID and password
- Click on "Create Blog" - Add a name and a template set (Classic Blog) - The Site URL and Site Root are automatically generated and will be linked to your PSU profile.
- Finish up by selecting "Create Blog" and then adding a description on the next screen then "Save Changes". Once you Save your changes you can go up to the "Create" tab to add new content. Remember to select "Save" each time you update your Blog.
- Select "View Entry" to check out your posts.
NOTE: To find out more about the specific settings when creating your Blog check out the classes offered by Training Services.
Goals of quest #3
- On your own blog post the best/most strange educational technology that you know of, or a radical idea for teaching and learning, or provide links to four websites that best describe your personality.
- Find and connect to the Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology Blog.
- Comment on the "Invitation to Participate in the Education Gaming Commons Pre-Symposium Game" post. Please provide a link to the personal blog you have created or use in your comment.
