English 202C Redesign Project
Stuart Selber has asked that Penn State’s composition program be brought into the 21st Century. There is currently very little technology being used beyond word processing and faculty would like the opportunity to use multimedia for composition—even moving entirely digital for an assignment. Most assignments are currently completed individually through approximately six papers per semester. Instructors would also like the possibility of incorporating team assignments into the process. This project will start with a focus on English 202C with the possibility to move to future projects for English 202A, B, D and English 15.
The purpose of Education Technology Services’ (ETS) participation in this project is to help conceptualize what changes are possible and determine how to approach them. This will be achieved by providing technological expertise and aiding in instructor familiarization with multiple technologies and their various uses. ETS will also assist with obtaining the technology required for successful implementation of the pilot project.
