Google Analytics and TLA Marketing Plan
- The marketing for Spring 2010 will begin on 11/9
- We will want to use Google Analytics to track the different types of marketing efforts (email, newswire, ads, etc.) that we use to promote the TLA program
TLA Video
Mark Heckel has asked for a promotional video on TLA that can be displayed on the Penn State YouTube site
Writing Intern
- Derick spoke with Barb and determined that we would like to have an intern on board with the group by October 15
- We are actually going in a different direction and do not want strictly a writing intern
- We want to get an intern with a marketing/communications background
- We need to complete a description of what we want
- Go on LinkedIn and Mashable and search jobs for verbage for a description
We are seeking an energetic and creative person to aid the marketing and communications team with expanding and enhancing communications in social networking environments
Requirements:
- Excellent writing skills, grammar, spelling, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task under time constraints
- Experience in social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter
- Have an interest in using social media including YouTube, Flickr, Wikis, blogs and RSS for marketing and communications
- Must be at least a junior or senior in college
Duties:
- Complete a variety of writing assignments, including content for social networking sites as well as news briefs and promotional announcements
- Assist in managing, updating, and publicizing information and communication in social media spaces for multiple work units
- Upload videos, photos, podcasts and other relevant content to social networking sites
TLTComm Email Alias and Workflow
- Derick will look at the instructions that Bill Verity sent in regards to the listserv
- We need to make sure that we are all owners on the listserv and will receive messages that go to the list
- Setting up workflow
- We need to write up a set of guidelines for submitting to TLTComm
- Who can send requests
- TLT staff
- Staff outside of TLT

- Is there a request form/where does it reside
- Types of requests (anything that a project manager wants to create to promote or communicate a service)

- How do we inform faculty and staff that this workflow exists
- Presentation at all-staff meeting
- Informing staff who may receive communications requests (i.e. Heather Ormsby for SemReg workshop descriptions) to forward requests to TLTComm and copy the original sender
