Communications Intern

Based on the job description that was sent out, Allan has suggested that we break up the position into two positions: social media coordinator and technical writer

Social Media Coordinator

George will take on the duties of coordinating the social media communications for the unit

Technical Writer

We will be getting a writing intern

• This intern will report to Mary
• The intern would work for credit during fall semester

1. We can have the intern come back as wage for subsequent semesters if we choose
2. We will look at one of Stuart Selbert's students for this position

Facebook webinar

• Derick received an email regarding a webinar called "Facebook on Campus: Applications, Tools, and Tips for Your College"

1. Takes place on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00
2. The cost of the webinar is $199

• There is enough interest from the TLT Comm Group to request attending this event

1. Derick will submit the paperwork to Barb
2. Derick will send out an invite to the ITS MarComm Group as well as any other TLT staff who would like to attend

CIC Meeting

The CIC IT Communicators Group meeting will be held at the University of Chicago on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16

• Derick is working with Heather Herzog to schedule 315 Rider to teleconference into the meeting

Symposium web site

What is still needed:

• Images of Henry Jenkins, Lee Rainie, and Bryan Alexander presenting for the Flash widget on the home page
• Synopsis of each keynote that appears with that particular speaker's information
• Debrief archive of past Symposiums

1. Go through debrief reports of the past years and pull out info that is for public knowledge (number of attendees, location, presenters, tracks, etc.)

• A write-up of the history of the Symposium
