Dates, Times

Early to Mid-November, 2008

Should this be on a weekday or weekend? Keep in mind some people will need to travel.
- Don't kill me, but what about the Mon. and Tues. of Thanksgiving week?..... on the upside there are no classes. On the downside, people may be about to travel for the holiday. (Deborah)
- If the committee members from the west are expected to attend (and if funding is available for travel from the Digital Commons) then the dates should be created to build in 2 travel days to/from the East from Western PA and also should minimize class cancellations. I know for me, personally, this rules out many dates in Mid-November due to conference travel, etc. (Lori)
- A weekend is the best time, if you are thinking of the fall semester. Faculty have a hard time canceling classes and inserting new assignments after the semester has started. In the future, I would recommend identifying the date and announcing it before the semester starts so faculty can work the "Camp" into their schedules. For now, you would get the most faculty participation with a weekend workshop. (Laura)

2-days - Preconference/Conference
- Day 1: (optional) Hands-on workshops
- Day 2: Presentations, demos, and small-group discussions

Schuylkill is a possible location. It is centrally located on the East side and has a big room. [Matt]

I also agree. We have a large Studio space and other meeting room on campus that can be used.[Vince Mitchell]

I am suggesting the week of Thanksgiving break (the Monday and Tuesday - 11/24 and 11/25). In my opinion, this is the only time faculty can realistically get away from classes for an extended period of time. During that week, rooms are available at Brandywine and I would be willing to coordinate facilities. [1]
I have a hold on the rooms we need to use at Schuylkill.
