Talk:LDSC 09 Session 3 Game
From ETS
Asg102 12:55, 8 July 2009 (UTC) I was thinking about the logistics. 150 people / 5 people per group = 30 groups. If we have them form and talk for 20 minutes and then it takes each one 1 minute to report out (which it never does), then that would be 50 minutes minimum, most of which would be listening to report-outs. What if we had groups of 3-4 (more manageable size) and only used the best 6-8 topic/question cards so there would be multiple groups discussing the same topic/question. We create 6-8 Live Question Tool pages, each with a single topic and then we have each group posts their answers to be voted up by everyone else. This creates competition around each topic so we don't need to try to compare answers between different topic areas. We could skip the report out section and just let people read the responses to each question and pick their winners after the time is up.
Brett Bixler 8:30 PM, EST July 8 Good points. I revised the cards and cut them down to the top eight that I hope will give us the most bang for the buck.
I have a few questions:
- Is the game running for a single round or multiple rounds?
- So is each group answering the same question or a different question? If they're doing the same question it might be easier to compare and vote on the responses, but then you have to do more than one round to get to the other questions.
